Nordic Credit Rating is a credit rating agency licensed by the European Securities and Markets Authority.
The company’s mission is to increase transparency in the Nordic credit market by assigning credit ratings to corporates and financial institutions. Nordic Credit Rating is owned by Danske Bank, DNB, Nasdaq, Handelsbanken and Swedbank, among others.
You will be part of the technical department, which supports the organization by developing systems and tools to facilitate everyday life.
Offices are currently located in central Stockholm. After the initial onboarding period we are flexible on remote work from another location in Sweden. We do however expect you to be in the office a few days a week.
Examples of duties in this role include:
- Developing new functions in internal system, both in the backend and frontend.
- Learning about technical frameworks or services and leaving a recommendation if they suit.
- Improving existing code and write associated unit tests or integration tests.
- Analyzing datasets and visualizing results graphically.
- Finding out what our colleagues need for tools and write the code needed to deliver the functionality.
- We would love for you to come up with new thoughts and ideas. You will be an important sounding board and have a large part in the development of the company.
The person in this position will be a direct report to the Operations and Technology Officer, who is reporting to the CEO, in the Stockholm office.
To succeed in this position, we believe you meet some (but not necessarily all) of these requirements. You:
- Have familiarized yourself with the basics of class-based development in Python and have used Python's standard library for unit testing.
- Have built components in React.
- Have finance industry knowledge or interests.
We have built our stack around Python/Django, GraqhQL and React. We also use PostgreSQL for data storage.
In the company we use English, Swedish and Norwegian. In order for you to do well, we believe you are communicative in English and that you have ongoing training to learn Swedish or Norwegian.
Personally we believe you:
- Have ambitious personality with a good attention to details.
- Have a methodical and systematic way of solving problems.
- Are open for taking responsibilities.
- See programming as a way to express your creativity.
- Think that new technologies can be, at least, as good as Excel for analyzing financial data.
