We are looking for even more engineers to join the team that handles the area of electric propulsion system control, both within Systems, SW and Verification Engineering. Functions and systems you could be working on are for example.
Torque Demanders (pedal, cruise control)
Torque Limiters
Torque Distribution and Arbitration
Motor Drive System Control

The Propulsion System Control group, is a dynamic group that provides world class solutions for complete electric propulsion system or subsystems, delivering end customer value for Volvo business units such as busses, trucks, construction equipment and marine applications. The group belongs to Electromobility organization.


Electromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo AB and was created to be in the forefront of environmental friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow. Being part of the Electromobility department you will get all the benefits from a big and global company but also the one you will find in a small one. And the ownership of our solutions span from idea and R&D to industrialization and to aftermarket and maintenance.


 We are working in a cross-functional way from system/function design, software implementation and calibration to verification of our features in customer end products, it could be busses, trucks, construction equipment or even marine applications.

We believe teamwork and collaboration is the foundation for great products and an attractive workplace. Therefore we work in an agile way where everyone is part of a sub team of 5-8 colleagues with complementary skills committed to a common purpose. Every team plans their own work in and deliver solutions together as a team. We mostly use graphical programming tools such as Simulink/TargetLink so that we can focus on the products we develop.

Who are you?
To be successful in this position you need to be a team player and have an analytic mindset of a true problem solver. You either have long experience from the automotive industry, system development, software development OR you are a junior Function Developer with great attitude, working cross functional and a willingness to learn and take more responsibility.

Required skills and experience:
Bachelor / Master of Science in Mechatronics, Physics, Electrical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent
Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
Min 2 years in relevant engineering profession

Useful skills and experience (or what you will learn)
Automotive experience, Simulink/Targetlink, C, Embedded SW/HW, Control Theory, HIL, Driver license C/D, CAN, ISO 26262, J1939, Autosar, Systems Engineering.Automotive experience, TargetLink, C, Embedded SW/HW, Control Theory, HIL, Driver license C/D, CAN, ISO 26262, J1939, Autosar, Systems Engineering.
