Company The department Control Systems is organized within the department of Product Development, Gothenburg.Within the Control Systems department we work with development and design of electronic control systems for Volvo's heavy and medium duty diesel engines and gearboxes.Our specific responsibility is to develop driveline software functionality and related components for driveline management.This includes development of electronic hardware, software, practical application and optimisation for all engines and automatic gearboxes.It is a rapidly growing area within product development and the section is today about 150 people.Job Description The group Transmission Functions is responsible for the development of real-time control software for automated transmissions, both for conventional and hybrid powertrains.This includes selection of the most appropriate gear considering fuel consumption and driveability as well as performing quick and comfortable gearshifts using simultaneous control of the clutch, the gearbox, and the engine.Specification, implementation and verification/validation are important areas in the daily work, where we use modern tools.As a function developer you will work with the following areas: .Development of software for driveline control .Optimization and verification of software, both in test environment and in vehicle .Documentation related to software functions .The latest powertrain technology Qualifications Required competence Tools .Experience in Ascet, Simulink or similar tools .Efficient in CanAlyzer, CanGraph, ATI Vision or similar CAN logging/analyzing tools .Knowledge in version handling tools Skills .A MSc with documented skills in physics, mathematics and control engineering .Experience from software development .Good analytical capability .A structured way of working .Strong driving force and energy level and the ability to push forward to reach objectives .Ability to take an active part in team-work and share ideas in an open discussion .Fluent in English, both written and spoken.For further information contact: For this recruitment, Volvo Powertrain is cooperating with Elan.
