Within the group Infotainment Connectivity we are responsible for the development of Infotainment system and all its features. Our daily work includes transforming ideas into products to meet the high standards of future vehicles. We use the latest technologies and advanced methods to develop best in class infotainment systems. The Infotainment department currently has approximately 250 employees. In this area, in-house SW development will continue to grow over the coming years. Join us on our way towards the future.
As a function owner your job is to make sure that our customers receive the best possible experience with regards to content and quality. Your daily work will include interaction with stakeholders, user experience expert, SW developers, testers, project leader and suppliers. You are expected to work in all phases, i.e. although main focus is to define the function, you are also driving implementation, are part of test, bug fixing and final verification. In your daily work, you are working closely with our supplier to define solutions.
You are also expected to take on the role as Software developer, and in this role you will be highly involved in producing our next generation SW platform for Infotainment. You need to have good collaboration skills as you will be working together with different stakeholders. The main focus is on delivering SW that is able to function well within the Infotainment eco system. This includes flexible, maintainable and extendable solutions to support the development of our roadmap as well as adapting to the ever changing demands from the world around us. The Infotainment system is developed within an embedded Linux environment. You will need to consider non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, availability and security when producing designs and software. Quality assurance is also a large part of a software developer's role; this includes not only code reviews, but also introducing standards and best practices. As a software developer you will engage in discussions about how to implement new and innovative ideas in the Volvo Car Group infotainment system ensuring the development of a highly adaptive and cost optimal infotainment platform.


Main responsibility
. Create function requirements and act as team leader for the whole solution in coming projects.
. Develop strategies, including test strategies, for how to improve quality in our functions.
. SW development within Apps platform and the Connectivity area.
. Requirement analysis.
. Estimations of SW development effort.
. Supplier contact and Volvos voice in collaborative SW development project.


Required qualifications
. M.Sc. in Electrical and/or Software engineering or similar relevant experience.
. Experience from working in the field of SW Development, requirement handling within electrical and/or software projects (C++, C etc.).
. Service oriented -and component based architecture.
. Object oriented design / Design patterns.
. Software product line architecture and variants management.
. Agile SW development.
. Fluent in English (written and spoken).
. Driver's license (B-level)
. An asset would be experience from working in a highly networked organization developing SW and architecture together with suppliers.
. An asset would be experience from SW integration and validation.
Meritorious qualifications
. Experience within Automotive, Infotainment and from working in an international environment.
. Experience from Embedded Linux Development (i.e. YOCTO), connectivity technologies like Bluetooth stacks, Wi-Fi, phone mirroring technologies and Linux kernel drivers.
. Experience from SW tools like Qt, QML, Git, Python and bash.
