Functional development engineer, Hydraulics

Volvo Construction Equipment, a business area within the Volvo Group, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of construction equipment such as wheel loaders, excavators, articulated haulers, road development equipment and compact equipment. The department is responsible for hydraulic systems on Articulated Haulers and Wheel Loaders. Functional development of electronically controlled hydraulics is a new part of our responsibility. In this area we want to strengthen our capability. Examples of tasks are: As functional development engineer hydraulics you will work with developing new software controlled hydraulic functions. This includes specifications for verification of the software when implemented in our machines. Since this area of responsibility has been moved from another departments to our hydraulic department you will be part of setting up work methods within this area. The work is mostly preformed in cross-functional projects. Desirable qualifications: You have a technical master degree with electronics or mechatronics or equivalent experience. Previous experience of design work in any of the above fields or experience in working with heavy vehicles is additionally qualifying. Experience in working with modelbased development or rapid prototyping tools as Matlab/Simulink/dSpace is additionally qualifying. As a person you flexible and enjoy working both independently and in groups in an outgoing and communicative way. It is important that you have your own drive and like to solve technical issues.
