Functional Expert, Observability

Inter IKEA Group are well under way with one of the biggest digital transformation projects we’ve ever implemented, and this is a journey that will require a new technology foundation for all the core parts of the business. We have started work to set up the technical services needed to support an IT landscape that will be developed and operated in a hybrid cloud model (Public and Private). We need to deliver services that enable this transformation and leverage the power of cloud computing, continuing to making it possible for any XaaS to be translated in an afforable, accessible and sustainable way.


These services will enable us to create a better IKEA, and we’re looking for people who can take on the responsibility to ensure we deliver, as a team. Bound by great colleagues, and an exciting vision, we are approaching this with curiosity, drive and technical competence underpinned by desire to make a difference. We take a leading approach in this by transforming complexity for the few into simplicity for the many.

As a Functional Expert, you’ll act as an SME for Observability, and you’ll bring all of your knowledge and experience to guide
IKEA in the field of Monitoring/Observability, in a role that’s central to our digital transformation, and play a major role in the
establishment and organisation of this discipline. The main areas of focus will include;
Indentifying and managing the life cycle of the service offerings, platforms and products.
Understanding, articulating and implementing best practices related to Central Logging and Monitoring (Splunk).
Being an advisor for areas within the IT Infrastructure lanscape, preferably with experience in a large organisation.
Providing expert knowledge on current market and tech trends within the international IT marketplace.
Producing roadmaps for the centralised Monitoring area across the entire Inter IKEA Group.
Leading and managing initiatives within the Monitoring area, resulting in new or updated product porfolio/service offerings to be used by the wider Inter IKEA Business.
Owning the relationships with IT Vendors for current portfolio and offerings, as well as identifying new opportunities.
Establishing a common monitoring services for both applications, and infrastructure services to be deployed in the public cloud.
