Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

 

As the complexity of electric/electronic functions and the level of digitalization in our vehicles increase, the need for ensuring the safety and security of our systems increases as well. We are now looking to strengthen our team in order to ensure our future products are safe and secure. As part of our team you will play an important role in shaping how our future powertrains functions and performs. 

 

Your role 

Contribute to the overall safety of Scania’s vehicles by working with technical and process-related activities for the development of engine control systems with industry-leading safety levels. 

With the creation of safety analyses, and the definition of safety measures for mitigating unreasonable risk due to hazards caused by either malfunctioning behavior of the engine control electric/electronic systems or the mechanical parts of the engine. Tasks include: 


• Creation of structured, systematic techniques such as Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). 
• Development of technical safety concepts for the engine systems. 
• Contribute to the further development of safety processes and culture at the Control System Platform and Engine Control department. 

 

Your profile 

The powertrain domain is technically complex and developed to the best performance and standards on the market. The systems in this domain are key to function, performance and environmental impact of our products. The organisation is equally skilled and experienced, working and leading the organisation on these complex topics will challenge and develop you as an engineer and leader. Prior experience in working with functional safety and leading technical development is meriting. 

The work with functional safety is guided by standards. Experience with existing standards and development work guided by regulatory control is meriting. 

You are a graduate engineer who can express yourself both verbally and in writing in English. The ability to speak Swedish or the willingness to learn are advantageous. C/D drivers license is also meriting.
