Due to aggressive growth plans Polestar is currently looking to recruit a Functional Safety Engineer.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:
The Functional Safety Engineer is responsible for functional safety for Polestar developed products.
- Responsible for the functional safety development of new or modified vehicle systems, in line with relevant industry standards.
- Work with different teams across the business to ensure functional safety requirements are implemented to the required standard.
- Assess work products created by suppliers and review suppliers’ capability to deliver as per Polestar requirements.
- Guide cross functional teams to ensure their functional safety targets are met.
Academic Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional team members without direct authority.
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and methodical individual who is self-motivated and able to work well under own initiative.
- Detailed knowledge of on ISO26262 process and its work products is a must.
- Knowledgeable of automotive vehicle systems and system development.
- Familiar with Application Software and Automotive Communication protocols.
- Electrical, Electronic Systems, Electro-mechanical, Automotive, Software or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognized engineering or IT qualifications combined with relevant significant experience may be considered.
- No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
- Travel is required.
