Functional Safety Manager - Powertrain Controls and Calibration

The section Powertrain Diagnostics and Dependability within the department Powertrain Controls and Calibration is responsible for system safety development and related diagnostic monitoring of complete propulsion systems. Our delivery consists of software functionality that identifies inaccuracies, prevents critical events and mitigates the effect of a fault. We apply highest standard when it comes to minimise customer impact. Thereby, focus on robust system design is crucial.

As Functional Safety Manager within Powertrain Diagnostics and Dependability, you will be part of a highly creative section of people that continuosly develops and implements diagnostic and safety monitoring concepts to fit different vehicle applications. Your head task will be to implement and secure a work process (for development, test and verification) that aligns to the ISO26262 standard. You will perform this in close cooperation with different functional areas both within Powertrain Controls and Calibration as well as across R&D.
This challenging role will not only require extensive project leading skills but also a thorough understanding of system safety standards within the automotive industry.

Main Responsibilities

* Identify and concretize changes needed within the organisation to secure ISO26262 compliance.
* Be the main contributor of the implementation of a work process that is aligned to the ISO26262 standards.
* Participate in evaluations of proposed technical solutions (in decided architecture) with the purpose to judge the possibility of developing and calibrating a SW solution
* Participate as a representative of the Powertrain system safety group within system teams (for example when performing Hazard Analysis, FMEA, FTA, etc)
* Plan and document the system safety activities and work products in a System Safety Plan

Required qualifications

* Master of Science within in Electrical, Mechanical, Applied Physics, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent experience
* Experience within software development and embedded powertrain/vehicle control systems
* Experience with the ISO26262 standard
* Extensive knowledge of system safety and monitoring methods
* Fluent in English, spoken and written
