Swedish teacher

From August 2020 we are looking for a competent and dynamic teacher in Swedish for teaching grades 6-9. We are looking for you who have experience of working together and who put the student at the center. You will be part of a creative subject that works with collegiate learning.


The Swedish Teacher reports directly to the Principal and is responsible for active contribution to the expected learning environment and the well-being of our students. He/she is expected to work in close consultation with leadership to actively promote openness, give constructive criticism, exhibit teamwork, and initiative. He/she is expected to model personal characteristics from the International Middle Years Curriculum that are desirable in the development of our students and for our school so that we can develop as a professional learning team.


Teacher needs to speak Swedish and English fluently.



Teaching:
Cooperate as a member of a teaching team to plan instructional programs that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
Meet and instruct, with prepared materials, assigned groups of students during scheduled times
Encourage students to set and maintain appropriate standards of classroom behavior.
Assess students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
Take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety and welfare of members of the class and, indirectly, for all children within the school during teaching times, break times and throughout the school day.
Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.





Curriculum:
Prepare written lesson plans and establish clear instructional objectives based on curriculum, utilizing core teaching resources and supplementary materials.
Write and review curriculum documents as required by the various accreditation and authorization agencies.


Differentiation:
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, demonstrating enquiry and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students in the class.
Promote a nurturing atmosphere supportive of the student’s emotional well-being and positive social interaction.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the students involved.
Make provision for the needs of all learners and support and promote learning styles which cater to individual differences.



Qualifications:
We are looking for you as a qualified teacher. The service requires commitment, responsibility and the ability to plan. It is important that you as a person are clear, responsive and show respect for the students' needs. Of course, you are passionate about student development and learning. You have the digital skills required for documentation and communication in the assignment and use digital tools as a natural element of your teaching. You can easily establish relationships with students, parents and colleagues. You are well-anchored in the school's governing document and participate actively in the educational development work and the collegiate learning processes as well as create the conditions for each child's learning and development. You are confident and contribute to innovation and creativity in your work together with the rest of your team. Through a conscious approach, you create security, trust and good relationships. Experience working with students from diverse cultures and countries would be an advantage.
