As a Game Designer you will be focusing on designing and balancing engaging gameplay mechanics. Hearts of Iron, the grand strategy wargame, have over a million players monthly (and growing) expectantly waiting for what’s next for their favorite franchise.

We're on the lookout for a game designer driven by a deep passion for their craft and a fervor for crafting thrilling experiences for our players. Your mission
You will be working closely with the Design Lead and be the owner of the design in feature teams. Taking ownership of the designs means that you will be working hands-on from research, to design, implementation and balancing of gameplay systems. This includes being adept at communicating with your peers and colleagues in other disciplines, writing and maintaining design documents as well as testing implemented features and making sure they live up to expectations.
Your role goes beyond crafting engaging game play - it involves actively engaging with our community, giving sneak peaks of yours & the team's latest for work as well as working closely with our marketing team to come up with the best way to showcase the game. In doing this you will be central to shaping the interaction with the people that matters most to us - our players.
Skills that we are looking for
Work experience in system design
Work experience in gameplay design
Experience with scripting
Interest in strategy/war games; PDS games in particular
Fluency in English
As a creative force at Paradox, you are expected to have a genuine passion for Grand Strategy Games and a good understanding of what makes them so appealing to our players.
