Game Developer for Saab Image Generator

Your role

The department Tactical Environment Simulation and Visualisation is responsible for delivering solutions for simulating and visualising the environment outside of the aircraft in a flight simulator. This includes tools for creating behaviors for other aircrafts, create scenarios in a simulation with a graphical interface as well as equipping the graphical engine with functionality for weather, special effects etc.

We are looking for someone to join the team working with our image generator. The teams is responsible for developing the image generator used within our flight simulators at Saab, enabling both Saab personnel as well as external customers to view a 3D environment in the simulation. This can be rendered both to a computer screen as well as displayed within a dome. The key is to display a lot of data without performance problems and making it look good at the same time with correct lighting.We develop this in C++ using either Linux or Windows.

Your profile

We are looking for either a graduate with great potential or an experienced developer ready for diving into the world of simulation and training. One shall be able to both talk with users to understand what needs to be done as well as implement the solution.

For this role the following is required;

* Graduate from a technical university
* Experience with visualization or game development
* Experience programming C++

Desired skills;

* Previous knowledge about simulators at Saab, for example from a mas ter thesis or working at another department
* Experience of simulation and training from another company
* Experience developing a game engine

This position requires that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.

What you will be a part of

The department Tactical Environment Simulation and Visualisation delivers software to be used within flight simulators at Saab. Both for test purposes in-house, but also to our customers in Sweden and abroad.

There is a mix of both senior and junior programmers, all willing to share ideas and let each other learn and grow.

Each day we gather around for both breakfast break as well as "fika" in the afternoon. If one wants, one can join the weekly Friday "fika" as well.
