About the role
Working as an Gameplay Designer at Tarsier, you will be working on our new franchise following in the footsteps of award-winning Little Nightmares, together with a passionate, interdisciplinary team. Your main responsibilities will include prototyping gameplay interactions, working with Level Designers to whitebox gameplay spaces and implement these interactions. These gameplay interactions can include elements such as; AI encounters, behaviors, game mechanics, UI, systems, puzzle design, events and story moments.
Being self-sufficient is important in this position, however you will still be working closely with the rest of the design team, feedback and collaboration will also be important aspects of your day-to-day work.

We believe that you are:
- Experienced developing Gameplay Interactions, throughout the whole development process in a professional engine environment (e.g. Unreal Engine)
- Can work in an iterative workflow - Developing clean and easy to read prototype interactions, scenarios, encounters and satisfying gameplay pacing
- Knowledgeable in game & level design fundamentals and methodologies
- Experienced working in an interdisciplinary team environment
- Proficient in spoken and written English
It’s a bonus if you also have:
- A couple of shipped titles under your name
- A strong understanding of narrative, story telling and pacing
- Experience working with AI, Advanced Blueprints or C++ in Unreal Engine
- A formal game related education
- Knowledge about broader game development (e.g. VFX, Art, Code)
This position is full time onsite in the office in Malmö, and will start with a trial period.
