For our offices in Västerås, we are currently looking to recruit a Gearbox Engineer

Tasks

As a Gearbox Engineer you will work focused on the design of the Gearboxes for High speed trains, Intercity trains, Regional trains and Metros. You will start with defining the functional specifications for the Gearbox and then hand these over to the supplier that will turn them into detailed design solutions. You will analyze and evaluate the design solution provided by the supplier.

You will also work with validating the gearbox design with different tests. In case of failing gearboxes in service you may be in charge of trouble-shooting root causes of the product malfunction.

This position also implies revising work methods and setting up business improvement plans.

The position offers a technical complexity but is also very much focused on communication and project management.

Occasional short business trips are expected in order to meet with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

The successful candidate is a communicative person that can understand and translate complex technical issues to third parties in a clear manner. You are a flexible team player with great self-drive.

- Minimum B.Sc., preferably M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of gearbox development experience
- Fluency in English is required, Swedish is an advantage
