General Project Manager Hydrogen - Sweden to Uniper

For our Hydrogen Team in Sweden we are looking for a General Project Manager (GPM). The commercial role is part of the Uniper Business Line Hydrogen which includes in addition to Sweden the UK, Netherlands and Germany. The Business Line Hydrogen works as one team within the company utilizing the resources from the whole Uniper Group. The position will be located in Malmö or any of the Sydkraft offices in Sweden.

As a General Project Manager you will:
• Be General Project Manager (GPM) for of one of Uniper’s hydrogen or PtL major asset projects in Sweden. Lead the project towards Final Investment Decision (FID) to be taken by the Uniper Group Board of Management.
• Take the overall responsibility for the commercial and technical development, budget, business modelling, scheduling and structuring of the project into meaningful phases divided by clear decision and budget milestones. Be accountable for defining the project charta, project presentation, data book with support by a Project Management Team.
• Project management of an interdisciplinary team across multiple Uniper functions as well as contractors for commercial, strategic and technical aspects until the final investment decision is taken. Manage handover processes for construction execution and operations phase.
• Be accountable for project capex amounting to 3-digit million Euro in close coordination with the relevant Uniper units, e.g. Procurement, Sales, Origination.
• Report disciplinary to the line manger Team Lead Hydrogen Business Development Sweden, as well as functionally to the project steering committee (consisting of executives from around the Uniper group and Uniper Sweden).
• Internal and external stakeholder management, including supporting the establishment and maintenance of (strategic) partnerships as well as Uniper representation in international associations and at conferences, all in close coordination with our group communications & public relations department.
• Ensure compliance, project management and HSSES (Health, Safety, Security & Environment, Sustainability) standards within the Uniper policy framework.
• Actively contribute to the implementation of the Uniper hydrogen strategy in order to help shape the climate-friendly future of the company.
Uniper is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure and our operations are covered by, among other things, rules related to protective security, export control and nuclear non-proliferation. We will therefore carry out security clearance of all positions and complement with register control for security classified positions, according to the Protection Security Act. Health and drug tests are performed if applicable.

Who we are seeking
You have a relevant University degree and several years of work experience. Professional experience in project management is essential. As a person you have good leadership skills and high engagement when it comes to developing and managing people. You can easily see the bigger picture, are driven and make things happen. In addition, you are a good communicator and have the ability to cooperate and communicate with different types of people. We will pay attention to your personal capabilities such as ability to create structure, analytical skills and ability to cooperate.
• University degree, e.g. MBA, engineering, natural, economic sciences, or a comparable qualification.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in the development and management of complex, interdisciplinary (large-scale) asset projects in the energy industry or comparable (functional) management responsibility.
• Ideally, technical or commercial expertise in an adjacent subject area, e.g. hydrogen, methanol, gas infrastructure, plant construction, major asset investment projects, etc.
• Analytic, entrepreneurial way of thinking as well as working with a high level of quality awareness, even under high pressure.
• Experience in the identification, selection and management of contractors as well as in the management of heterogeneous teams (engineers, lawyers, economists, technicians, etc.) .
• Personality: high level of integrity; open to new ideas; keeping calm in all situations; always solution-oriented; always a team player.
• Fluent in Swedish language. The project is managed and conducted in the English language, however Swedish language is essential due to close cooperation with external stakeholders (customers, authorities, municipalities, etc.)
• Willingness to travel within Sweden at least twice per month and to other European countries.
