located to the North European countries, based on local mineral resources of chalk, calcite marble and dolomite marble.The raw material is extracted both from underground mines and from open quarries.
Omya seeks Geologist
We are looking for a candidate with a professional background in fields to include geological mapping, structural geology, mineralogy and/or resource geology.You should also be competent in the use of digital planning programs.Experience from mines and quarries with quarry development
would be an advantage.The job requires somebody who can work independently, but also as a member of a team.The job requires mobility.
Work tasks:
Good geological information is a prerequisite to be able to run our plants.An important part of the work will be to contribute to obtain enough geological information for the short and long term mine
and quarry planning.The work would involve elements of structural geology, mineralogy as well sedimentology.Omya in the North European countries uses the program Microstation as a planning tool and for 3D-modelling and visualisation.Experience with this program would be advantage.In addition to the participation in the mines- and quarry development work, there will also be activities on prospecting and geological mapping.
The geologist will report to the regional chief geologist, but will work closely with the mining chiefs/site managers/engineers at the respective production sites.Omya uses English as a working language, but skills in the Swedish, Norwegian or Danish language are important.If the description above is of interest, but you do not fulfil all requirements, we would still like to hear from you.
