Geologists to LKAB – summer job/temporary employment

We are now looking for geologist who would like to come and work for us during the summer. We have vacancies as Production geologists and Exploration geologists in all of our mine sites, Kiruna, Malmberget and Svappavaara.
The positions
Production geologist (KRN, SVP, MBG)
As a Production geologist you will work in one of the world's two largest and most modern underground mines in Malmberget/Kiruna or in our open pit mine Svappavaara. You will work with e.g. underground mapping, core logging, sampling, mapping/logging of geotechnical parameters, structural geology and recording of measurement data. Due to safety reasons, basic knowledge of the Swedish language is a requirement. Work is carried out on a shift basis.
Exploration geologist (KRN, SVP, MBG)
As an Exploration geologist you will be working on the exploration of future iron ore deposits in one of our underground mines/open pits and their surrounding areas in Malmberget, Kiruna or Svappavaara. You will be working with e.g. drill core mapping, sampling, mapping of geotechnical parameters, mapping with regard to structural geology and recording of measurement data.

In order to be considered for a summer job, we expect you to be available to work at least from mid-June to mid-August 2023. Please state in your application what period of time you are available.
Some of the positions (in the Exploration teams) will be available earlier (from February).

Skills & Competencies
The positions require you to have started a college or university education within geology.
As a person you should be responsible and driven, but also percipient and flexible. The positions includes a lot of collaboration with others, so good communication skills are essential.
Basic Swedish knowledge is required for working as a Production geologist. English is required for all the positions.
For all positions at LKAB, you must also have a driving licence (B).
