The Mission
The Geometrical architect (GA) balance the geometry requirements among attributes and lead geometrical integration for the battery pack installation starting from concept phase through the engineering design in detail. Including complete battery knowledge and deliver the most balanced solution considering attributes and systems.
The Role
The GA secure packaging of all systems levels within batteries and are responsible for the complete pack geometry analysis of weight and dimensions. As GA you will create assemblies of CAD models and perform packaging analysis and detect, report, and resolve packaging issues. You will lead regular packaging meetings and coordinate all packaging related questions within the energy storage system (ESS) and ESS installation team. You will perform virtual packaging verification towards different stakeholders.
As GA you will lead concept development for the battery pack in the early phases and continue to balance the geometrical requirements and design solutions during the engineering phase to maintain a good workflow. The role entails stakeholder management, balancing their needs, handling trade-off situations, tracking and raising issues to the project management team and get decisions that will help the project to move forward.
This role is truly cross-functional, you will collaborate widely within the department and across the company with attributes, design engineering, geometric architects, manufacturing, and program teams.
Requirements:
• BSc in engineering, preferably in mechanical, automotive engineering or equivalent.
• Experience from packaging of battery pack, battery electric vehicles or electric propulsion components.
• Experience in battery pack development and system design. Interest and passion to learn and expand skills in battery technology.
• Knowledge within the product development process within automotive required, Volvo DVP or similar is meritorious.
• Proficiency in CAD modeling and assembly, Creo is a plus.
• Knowledge in Windchill/PDM link would be an asset.
• Vehicle architecture and electric propulsion knowledge is meritorious.
• Good spoken as well as written English.
