Our team
Welcome to Product Documentation and Geometrical Architecture! We are an inclusive and engaged team of 12 persons and with a mix of competences, but where expertise knowledge, support and strive to improve are some common key words.


We belong to Volvo Bus Technology (GBT) and work closely together in a global environment with colleagues from Volvo Bus (VBC) as well as from other Volvo business areas/units. Besides the Geometrical Architecture Lead responsibility, we are also responsible for Product Documentation (process, structure, approval and support) and Virtual Product Data Management (CAD support and DMU Process development). In our daily operations we work in various projects (Product and Process&IT related), we train & support others and engage ourselves a lot in various improvement work. We are also part of many networks and forums within Volvo bus organization as well as within Volvo Group.

Position Description
As a Geometrical Architect Leader, you will take the lead for the cross functional geometrical work and you do it in close collaboration with our Product Architects, Product Owners and others. Our target is to, TOGHETHER, develop the best customer solutions and your involvement is needed from pre-study up to the final design. The project team will rely on you when it comes to gathering colleagues from around the world, to discuss and solve geometrical issues so that we, in the end, can deliver a product that can be efficiently produced, maintained and meet our customers' expectations.

Main task for you will be:
Drive packaging meetings and the geometrical work forward in an efficient way.
Support setting up requirements and boundaries for the geometrical architecture and interfacing body system.
Support designers by creating design contexts and restrictions.
Be the natural speaking partner in DMU and Virtual build related questions or issues.
Product weight coordination in projects.
Report status and deviations in your responsible area and to take lead for countermeasures when needed.
Perform pre-study packaging analysis and present consequences and propose way forward.
Contribute to improve our process, methods and tools so we can perform even better in the future.


Who are you?
We hope to find YOU, a person who wants to be involved "where things happens" and who wants to perform by helping others to move forward. As you will be in the center of the packaging work, it´s important that you enjoy to be in the lead position and you feel comfortable in driving big meetings and interacting with many people. To do so efficiently, you must also have a good engineering base to understand where we are heading and to ask the right questions, from different stakeholders perspectives. Your ability to keep track of and handle many different issues is essential, as well as having an organized way of working. Of course you like to support others and you know the way to be successful together is to treat everyone with respect and meet people where they are.
And then, of course, you want to contribute to our good team spirit and help us all have fun at work.

Preferred qualifications
CAD/DMU Management qualifications. Preferably from Catia V5 as used by Volvo Bus today.
Product Data management experience, a big plus if you have experience from Volvo PDM system KOLA.
Experience from similar assignment or from system component integration/design, product preparation, spare part engineering etc.
Complete vehicle and/or Chassis knowledge.
Relevant University degree (min. Bachelor).
Fluent in English, verbal and written.
