Geometry Assurance Analyst - Body in White

Commodity Body Structure is a section within the Manufacturing Engineering Body. The section develops and implements quality assured flexible and effective production systems in the Body in White plants. The section is divided into three groups, Underbody, Upperbody & Hang on Parts. The three groups are working cross functionally & project oriented, supporting all Volvo Car Group plants and projects globally. Within the Commodity group Upperbody, we are now looking for one new member.
As a Geometry Assurance Analyst - Body in White you will be involved in the complete Car program, from early phase to implementation in the plant. You will be a part of a commodity engineering team and will contribute to the creation of the geometry systems for product and manufacturing processes. You will secure the geometry performance of the product and the capability of production areas. In the role as a Geometry Assurance Analyst, you will work cross functionally with several interfaces within Volvo Car Group. Main responsibilities
* Ensure product and process feedback to R&D regarding geometry demands in order to fulfil the manufacturing attributes globally (quality, man hours, cost efficiency, environment, flexibility, and change over)
* Secure the geometry performance of the product and the capability of equipment
* Participate at commissioning globally to ensure right geometry quality on upper body to secure smooth ramp up
* Drive equipment inspection and examination to secure process capability fulfilment
* Coordinate and drive a "geometry team" during program launches
* Create or update needed process, quality and inspection instructions for production
Required qualifications
* Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
* Experience from geometry work and good knowledge of geometry systems
* Practical and theoretical knowledge to be able to modify existing(manufacturing systems, development of new manual or automatic manufacturing systems with a Lean mind set for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones products.
* Experience and knowledge about working with 3D manufacturing IT tools
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Drivers license B
* Experience and knowledge about geometry assurance work is meritorious
* Knowledge in Six Sigma is meritorious
* Knowledge in Process designer, Teamcenter and CM4D is meritorious
* Understanding and using the geometry simulation tool RD&T is an advantage
