Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
The trademark ability to give the customer a solution, specifically composed to suit their needs will not change during this transformation. This ability is achieved through modularization – creating a design solution that can be combined in almost endless combinations. To ensure that the choices for our customers are kept as open as possible there is a need to verify that different components collide with each other – neither by the chosen design geometry nor by the set of rules (conditions) that are defined in our structure systems (TS/KS/VCR/TCR). As SCANIA is Driving the Shift toward a sustainable transport solution, in the coming years introducing new solutions to the modular toolbox – the modularization must be kept.
Here is where You can make a difference! At the group RVLD, we are responsible for the installation assurance of projects introducing new components – in all parts of our vehicles – cab, chassis, and bus. We do this by being a part of the running projects in the development phase, making installation assurance on the complete modular toolbox, as well as assuring that individual vehicles in the test vehicle process and vehicles built in SOP do not have any unknown interferences.
Description and responsibilities
You will come in contact with many areas of our vehicles in your assurance tasks, and you will use an understanding deeper than many, of our “rulebooks” – our structure - to fulfill your tasks. You will work with colleagues from different walks of life, both inside the group and at design and support groups all over the company. Your closest colleagues are eager to support you in your daily work, and you will receive an appointed mentor for your first time here. Our way f working is under revision and you will get to work with process improvement and have the possibility to support our method development.
You will be responsible for installation assurance of projects – identifying deviations and reporting them to the correct organization, working individually to meet the project/customer need at the right time, and ensuring that project timelines are met. You will work in most areas of our vehicles, depending on the projects, but your main area is intended to be buses. By using a combination of product and structure understanding, 3D geometry, and a set of our developed tools you will ensure that our modular system is prepared for the future and our products can be built efficiently and on spot for our customers.
Your profile
• We expect that you have a BSc in Engineering, or equivalent and relevant work experience to fulfill the task.
• You have experience from working with our products and an understanding of vehicle composition - both truck and bus.
• Good knowledge and experience of our structural systems (OAS, Catia/Enovia) are required.
• Good written and spoken English is essential.
• Knowledge in programming is meritorious, especially VB.net, VBA, and SQL.
You are structured and analytical and have good attention to detail without losing track of the bigger picture. You focus on the solution while acknowledging the problem and you see improvements as a natural part of your work. You take responsibility and enjoy working independently, but have no problem contacting and involving colleagues from other departments to solve a problem at hand
