Boliden Mines seeks a Geophysicist, senior to the Exploration Geophysics Department

Exploration
Exploration involves identifying, investigating, and prioritizing areas in order to locate mineral deposits. Mineral reserves and mineral resources are the basis of a mining company's operations. Boliden's exploration focuses on ores that contain zinc, copper and precious metals.
The Exploration Geophysics department serves the exploration projects with resources concerning geophysical surveys and geophysical modeling and interpretation. In addition, the department carries out geophysical development projects both internal and external, instrument development, instrument manufacturing and instrument service.
Assignment
As a Senior Geophysicist you will work in a team of geophysicists, geologists, and geochemists. Direct responsibilities will include planning, implementing, and supervising geophysical field campaigns, followed by processing, securing, and modeling data from these investigations according to Boliden standards. Additionally, you will be provided the opportunity to pursue geophysical investigations within your project areas utilizing your unique skillsets to evaluate and report the results according to Boliden standards. There is also an opportunity to work with geophysical method and instrument development that is carried out in the department.
As a senior role, internal mentoring is an everyday task, as well as advice and support for other geophysicists, geologists, field technicians, contractors, and consultants. The position is a fulltime and based in Boliden, Sweden.
Education and requirements
A B.Sc. degree or higher in geophysics is required, along with an understanding of the use of potential field and electromagnetic methods in mineral exploration. It is a merit to know electric methods well. Several years of experience in the mining industry, working out in the field with geophysical instruments, as well as knowledge and skills in modeling and interpretation packages (e.g. Geosoft, Maxwell, Geoscience Analyst) is expected. You are proficient in written and spoken English, are result oriented, flexible. You are a team player, and you can adapt to the Nordic culture. A driving license, category B (for car), or the equivalent, is mandatory. Skills in Swedish language is a merit.
