GIS Data Analyst

Arbetsbeskrivning

We are looking for a GIS Data Analyst to our Forest Division at Stora Enso to operate as a Geographical Information System data analyst of the Forest Data Service analytics team. The preferred location for this position is Falun, Sweden, however we can discuss locating in Forest Division's premises in Finland, Sweden, Russia or in the Baltic region. You will report to Kari Aula, Forest Data Analytics Manager.
Stora Enso is a leading global provider of renewable solutions in packaging, biomaterials, wooden constructions and paper. Come grow a renewable world. And you will grow too.
As a GIS Data Analyst, you will analyse Stora Enso's forest assets, support division's innovation projects (such as precision forestry), and develop wood supply operations' analytics. Your initial focus will be on the needs of our Swedish organisation, but one important part of the job is the expansion of the analytics services from local to cross contry divisional services; whole analytics team is together in this transition to help each other. As GIS Data Analyst, you will be in close contact with the business to find the most value adding analytics projects and continue to develop the analytics products as you build more understanding of the data and business. There is always need for more analytics and being able to define business value of analytics in co-operation with internal stakeholders is important for the prioritization of your tasks.
What we offer
With our values, “Lead and Do what’s right”, we endeavor to set an example in all aspects of our business as well as sustainability. We dare to take the initiative and constantly ask ourselves what more can we do, what can we do better. This is an excellent opportunity for you to be a part of the journey Stora Enso is on – transforming from a traditional forest industry company, into a renewable materials growth company – an industry with great potential driven by global megatrends. As a GIS Data Analyst, you can develop the ways of working and organizational culture, as well as analytics in new areas such as forest digital twin. In addition, you will have a great opportunity to be part of an international team and develop your own skills.
Are you the one?
Your proficiency is based on experience of GIS data analytics (at least 3 years), including proficiency in common GIS analytics tools (eg ESRI, FME), preferably in a multinational environment. To succeed in this role, you have some knowledge/experience of different data platforms as well. You have basic understanding of data modelling, as well as some common BI tools (eg. PowerBI, QlikView/Qlik Sense). Forest business understanding and an understanding of business specific data is seen as a definite asset. You know how to translate analytics lingo to be understandable to business.
You have an organized way of working and a systematical and precise working style. You are a good communicator, and you communicate fluently in English. You have a consulting mindset and can relate to the needs of the internal customers. We hope that you like to take initiative and actively promote ideas to develop analytics further.
If you have expertise in Analytics, but you lack GIS specific experience, please take a look at our open Data Analyst position as well.
