Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Do you believe in changing the world with data driven insights? Are you looking for a role where you can provide insights that will influence the design of tomorrow's connected, electrified and autonomous transport system?
Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. Connected Intelligence is a group within Connected Systems at Scania R&D. In the context of connectivity, we innovate and deliver scalable analytics that enable informed decision making for product, service and business developers.
Would you like to work with people who dare to try out new things, work to improve existing solutions, love cooperation and always want to move forward? We provide an environment where we apply agile working methods and where the teams are responsible for their services all the way from requirement handling, development, quality assurance to production. You get a key role in shaping tomorrow's connected transport system.
Your Work Assignment
We are now hiring a GIS developer to strengthen our front-end team. The team is responsible for developing end-to-end analytics solutions. We build visualisations and infrastructure for self-service solutions that democratize geospatial data. The data is derived from massive amounts of GPS-positions describing the global transport network of 400 000+ connected Scania vehicles.
The front end application is used internally to understand our customers and their transport pattern, applications that create value by enabling data driven decisions.
To take the next step in developing the visualisation framework, we are going to strengthen the team with a GIS developer. You will work tightly together with the rest of the development team in AWS.
Your Profile
As a person, you enjoy to collaborate and communicate effectively within teams. You take the initiative to produce results and embrace challenges on the way. You have a high quality focus and love learning to push yourself and the solutions you create.
• You have an academic degree in a computer science related field or equivalent work experience
• You have experience in developing large scale geospatial data applications
In addition:
• You understand the importance and challenges of transforming geospatial data into insights
• You have understood that software development on some levels resembles a factory process where repetitive moments can be automated and that the degree of automation is a measure of the delivery. Continuous improvement of the development process is therefore a natural priority.
Experience from the areas data streaming and/or cloud software development is meritorious.
