About the position
You will lead the GIS development at Virkesbörsen and will have great influence over our GIS application development. A big part of this will be building products that help forest owners but also enabling us to create a more sustainable future.


We expect you to be knowledgeable about how to develop GIS products in a scalable and innovative way. Our end product will not be simply a raster or vector layer but a complete and easily usable platform aimed towards both forest owners and companies interested in forest related information and services.


To give you an example of what you would do is to oversee and improve our current solution of classification and cleaning raster data to produce a vector layer that represents “forest sections” that make sense from a forestry perspective.


What we are looking for
A GIS engineer with 2+ years of experience with a drive and passion for building good solutions that can easily be maintained and further developed. We’re also looking for someone who is comfortable challenging traditional norms about GIS development and who is looking to challenge themselves with interesting tasks that have not yet been built. We also merit someone with programming experience preferably Python.
