We have a short term assignment for a brand manager to join our free-thinking, high-performing team whose mission is to develop and support the Volvo Penta business. As Global Brand Manager, your responsibility is to strengthen and protect the Volvo Penta brand towards all stakeholder groups, external as well as internal.
Your role is to help develop and maintain the Volvo Penta brand platform, enabling a consistent brand and customer experience in line with our strategy to strengthen and protect our No 1-2 top positions in brand image. It is both a strategic and operational role with broad contact across the entire business and with a high degree of involvement in marketing communication and development of customer interfaces. You will together with the rest of the communication team analyse business needs and with a creative mind support in the process to plan, execute and follow-up effective communications activities.
Located in Gothenburg, Sweden, you will report to the SVP of Volvo Penta Brand, Communication and Marketing. The duration of the assignment is six months, starting in the beginning of July (week 27).
Responsibilities
Drive the roll-out and implementation of the new Volvo experience and identity guideline in the Volvo Penta organization
Strengthen and protect the Volvo Penta brand experience through pro- and re-active activities
Brand and brand experience management including brand and customer experience strategy and implementation. This will be done in line with the Volvo Group guidelines, setting standards on how to use the brand, driving the engagement of the entire organization in the implementation plan.
Hands-on responsibility for corporate identity, naming, brand communication guidelines, brand tracking studies, and other specific brand-related issues.
Work closely with the Volvo Penta organization to ensure all aspects of strategy are aligned and “on brand experience”. Support the global organization, proactively and as needed, in “living the brand” (e.g. advise on local activities, approve materials, conduct training sessions, etc.)
Work closely with the legal teams of VTMH and VGIP to coordinate legal actions against trademark infringements
Be an effective member of relevant Volvo Penta and Volvo Group brand experience forums
Competencies
Senior line management experience within the brand experience, communication and marketing area
Experience from working with global brands
Customer and business oriented mind-set and a good understanding of the Volvo and/or Penta brand experience
Ability to analyze complex business challenges and formulate effective solutions linking strategy to tactics
A creative mind, with as strong focus on design and visual expression, and the ability to take your own initiative and to think outside the box
A trusted and respected brand and communication advisor routinely sought for advice
Strong communications skills, including, strong personal credibility and integrity
Ability to work in the Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage
Basic knowledge in IP law is an advantage
Fluency in written and spoken English – other languages are regarded as a merit
