In the role of Global Category Leader, you will be reporting to the Procurement Team Lead and start supporting regional/global sourcing initiatives either under the leadership of a regional/global category manager or independently when under a defined threshold. The location is Västerås, Sweden.
Your responsibilities
Supporting the development and implementation of regional/global sourcing strategies in close alignment with the Global Category Manager.
Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renewing pricelists, terms and conditions.
Running benchmark studies for the category team and for specific sourcing initiatives.
On-boarding new suppliers in close collaboration with the respective category team and running regular supplier evaluations and providing supplier reports to Businesses and Category Managers.
Ensuring purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.
Fostering communication internally, externally, and between different Divisions, Business Units and Functions and supporting the implementation of SCM activities and initiatives in the Region/Country through this clear communication.
Your background
Must have credentials as Engineering/Business degree.
Two years+ work experience within supply chain, major in engineering or business fields with focus on Supply Chain Management, is preferred.
Experience in tactical or strategic sourcing role, strong analytical, experience in a large manufacturing or global organization is meritorious.
Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation/influencing skills (internal ABB and external with suppliers) and result-oriented mindset.
Basic knowledge of industrial commodities/supply markets in a global context (example mechanical, plastics, cables and harnesses)
A team player who is able to work in a global environment with different cultures.
Solid experience in Microsoft office suite.
English on professional level and Swedish skills are highly appreciated.
