We are now looking for a Global Category Manager to join our team in Logistics Procurement, with category focus on Intercontinental transport, Packaging solutions and Regional Terminal Services. 
Your purpose as Global Category Manager is to maximize Volvo Cars business value within your procurement categories. You are globally accountable and 1st escalation point for end-to-end deliveries of the global category team – with buyers located in Sweden, US and China. The role offers an exciting and dynamic work environment, including a broad spectrum of tasks and truly global collaboration, with both internal and external stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategy / Procurement Deliveries Execution:
Accountable for Procurement end-to end deliveries for the global category team (Strategy, Sourcing, Supplier portfolio, Industrialization, Running production)
Team Task Management:
Decides on new intakes to the global category team based on different stakeholder need and fast shifting priorities. Own, prioritize and secure the Procurement deliveries by the global category team to maximize the business value through the whole lifecycle. 
Global Category Team Facilitation:
Lead planning events, remove impediments and facilitate problem-solving, collaboration and work load sharing to enable the most effective work delivery by the global category teams. 
Coaching and team support:
Provide support and coach the Category team and inspire and motivate the team to foster a creative and curious culture. 
Stakeholder Engagement:
Develop stakeholder engagement, secure early involvement and transparent communication for your team and understand/act on needs/issues/concerns to support the communication of business information and decisions.
Risks and Issues Management:
Manage identification of risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints, escalating these where appropriate. Where necessary, develop, agree on, and implement solutions to overcome these. 
Horizon Scanning:
Maintain understanding of current and future trends within the category area.
Continuous Improvement:
Review existing operations and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered. 
Personal Capability Building:
Maintain in-depth understanding of industry best practices through continuing professional development.

 Do you fit the profile?

You
-    have an Engineering/Economy bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience and 6-8 years of experience in Procurement.
-    have strong business acumen and experience in supplier network.
-    are fluent in English, spoken and written.
-    collaborate, build partnership and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
-    are result driven, consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances.
-    work on your self-development by actively seeking new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels.
-    drive both long-term strategic initiatives and short-term operational issues
-    build trust, gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
-    have previous leadership experience from Procurement and can demonstrate experience from leading and coaching teams through coaching and continuous feedback.
