Sandvik Mining and Sandvik Construction are business areas within the Sandvik Group and leading global suppliers of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. Global Sourcing is seen as an integrated part of, and a catalyst for, how Sandvik Mining and Sandvik Construction maximize EBIT performance and customer value. We are now looking for two Global Category Managers for this function; one of the positions is for the category Driveline Solutions, and one is for Electrics and Cabins. You will have an exciting and challenging role with possibilities to influence business and work across several functions. The positions are flexible within Europe.

Key performance areas
As a Global Category Manager you have full responsibility within the category to maintain strategic development and continuous improvement in key areas, such as total cost of ownership (TCO), supplier performance, supplier footprint and future global demand.

Shared responsibilities include working closely with stakeholders: mainly R&D, supplier quality, aftermarket and supply chain organizations. Furthermore, you provide high-level expertise for a significant number of risk-and-value sourcing activities, in conjunction with key business owners, and conduct contract management for suppliers. By leading and supporting the category team, and providing guidance on matters within the sourcing process, you act as a process leader for the continued improvement of sourcing processes.

You manage the effective delivery of projects, by determining project timelines and objectives and directing activities of project teams, always keeping all members and stakeholders informed about the progress. Effectively, you lead the development and on-going management of multiple and simultaneous supplier selections and negotiation processes; ensuring key stakeholder involvement on the determination of requirements, specifications, selection criteria, review of proposals and negotiations.

This position involves a considerable amount of international travel.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a BSc or MSc in Engineering or Economics, with solid experience from product line management, R&D and/or strategic sourcing. You are well experienced in international business and have a confident approach when dealing with stakeholders, having worked for at least five years, preferably in a global environment.
