Valmet’s Global Procurement organization is looking for a Global Category Purchaser to support subcontractor global mobility to our sites around the world. In this global role you will be cooperating with colleagues across all Business Lines in our matrix organization. To resource and mobilize projects globally, we work in close co-operation with Valmet´s subcontractor companies as well as our colleagues in the project and construction departments, HR, and the tax and finance teams.
As our new Global Category Purchaser, you develop processes for external site resourcing and procurement. You ensure subcontractors are at our sites when needed and assignments are managed in compliance with rules and regulations according to home and host country legislation. Your main responsibility is contract negotiations with 3rd party consultants and site management subcontractors. This includes agreeing terms and conditions such as service scope and cost, immigration requirements, international income taxation, social security, and overall competitiveness. You ensure that subcontractor assignments with 3rd parties and site management subcontractors comply with global mobility instructions.
You have a good understanding of procurement, global projects, and construction & mill sites. A little bit of interest in developing global mobility related topics will help you succeed in the role. Global projects are our bread and butter, which means that you will have a unique opportunity to work at the core of Valmet´s business surrounded by experts who depend on you.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
A bachelor's degree in engineering, procurement, economics or equivalent, paired with commitment and a can-do attitude.
A few years of experience from global procurement related processes, preferably regarding international short term/project services or significant experience in site planning, management and resourcing.
Interest in subcontractor mobility coordination.
An understanding of Lean principles.
Good language and communications skills in English. Finnish/Swedish skills are considered an advantage, but not required.
If you have a technical background, that is also considered an asset, but it is not required.
