Who are we?
Sourcing Global Commodities (SGC) team a passionate, diverse, and an engaged team of highly motivated and collaborating members in a multi-cultural setting. We have a broad scope of responsibilities ranging from modern technologies, commodities, e-commerce, purchasing development and aftermarket, which always keeps things new and exciting!


Our team is responsible for Global Commodities within Volvo CE, such as Engines, Drivelines, Electronics and Connectivity, Electromobility, Under Carriage parts, Hydraulics Controls and Actuation, global Remanufacturing, Filters, and Rims and Tyres.


Position description and job summary
The focus of this position is to globally own and manage the sourcing activities and conduct account management of suppliers for Tyres and Rims. You will work with internal and external stakeholders worldwide These components represent a vital portion of the total Volvo CE purchases and is impactful in the development of our strategic initiatives, service growth and sustainability. This area of responsibility is closely connected to end-users, with close connection to our operational planning.


You will also take a regional coordination role in Europe for Undercarriage Parts, which include track chain assembly, roller, idler, sprocket, and recoil spring. The activities include commodity strategy implement, supplier management and to facilitate sustainability initiatives to meet SBTi (science-based target).

Your main responsibilities:
Strong involvement in our strive toward a circular economy and sustainability initiatives;
Develop and deploy global sourcing strategies;
Identify, evaluate, develop and manage suppliers to fulfill business needs;
Strong involvement in defining and industrializing future solutions and business models;
Negotiate commercial contracts and agreements with business partners;
Work cross functionally and continuously drive supplier quality, sustainability, capacity and cost (QSCC) improvements;
Conduct BRMs (Business Review Meetings) with business partners and key suppliers at top management level;
Secure Intellectual Property (IP) rights for developed solutions;

Key competencies & experience
University or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or similar
Extended years of Purchasing or relevant work experience which includes: cost management, negotiations, development of sourcing strategies, operational & strategic supply management
Have solid understanding of relevant markets/industries and suppliers
Experience in leading cross functional and remote teams will be a plus
Fluent in written and spoken English
Location: Flexible in Europe, preferable Sweden (Eskilstuna)
