What is Your role
Össur is a fast-growing medical device company with diverse geographical spread. The regulatory environment is stricter and more complex than ever before. Consequently, Össur is now putting more effort into compliance to build an effective global compliance structure and promote a culture of compliance. Össur follows a risk-based approach and prioritizes compliance activities in line with relevant risk assessments.
The Global Compliance Director, a newly created role, will be part of the tactical implementation of Össur’s global compliance policies and managing a broad range of compliance matters for Össur’s global business, including related to anti-corruption and anti-bribery, sanctions and cross-border trade, anti-trust, and anti-money laundering.
This Global Compliance Director will report to the General Counsel and will either be based at Össur’s headquarters in Reykjavik, Iceland, Össur´s office in Stockholm, Sweden, or at Össur’s offices in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
Your tasks
Manage day-to-day compliance activities, including proactive and practical advice to employees.
Create / revise relevant global compliance policies and procedures, including for due diligence and internal investigations
Revise relevant agreements and templates with regards to compliance requirements
Provide support, education and training to employees and third-parties on relevant compliance matters
Track regulatory and legislative changes and update relevant employees on risks affecting the business
Liaise with, support and escalate important compliance issues to the General Counsel

A university degree in Business and / or Legal, with a Legal Risk management background with is a pro
At least 5 years’ experience in similar function in a multinational compliance/risk management environment.
Experience in project management is an advantage
Strong communication skills
Highly proficient in spoken and written English
Initiative, resiliency and being able to work independently
Practical approach to problem solving
