About the global role
PwC’s Global Threat Intelligence (TI) practice is seeking experienced threat intelligence professionals, in the US and Europe, for a leadership role responsible for the shared coordination of the global team, oversight of operations and the refinement and execution of strategy. PwC’s Global Threat Intelligence practice focuses on the identification of novel intrusion techniques and tracking of several hundred threat actors, ranging from organized crime groups to state affiliated espionage actors, originating from more than 25 countries.
The practice is responsible for the development and delivery of technical and strategic threat research and intelligence services and provides:
● Subscription and bespoke research services to public and private sector intelligence clients globally.
● Intelligence support to, and collection from incident response and managed threat hunting teams.
● Insight to our adversary emulation team on novel tools and techniques used by cyber threat actors.
● Access to cutting edge research to inform and underpin all services provided by PwC’s several thousand strong cyber security consulting practice.
As part of a global expansion, the Threat Intelligence practice will be coordinated by a geographically distributed leadership team, comprised of four Regional Leads based in the US, UK, Germany and Australia. Each Regional Lead will have a portfolio of responsibilities, spanning active involvement in research, developing intelligence sharing partnerships, mentoring staff, and managing and prioritizing requirements from within their region. We anticipate new Regional Leads will also be experienced intelligence team leads, recognised in their field, comfortable presenting research publicly, and building relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Regional Leads will be threat intelligence professionals with team or practice leadership experience, and responsible for:
● The day to day oversight of any dedicated in-region threat intelligence team members (minimum 3, maximum 25 depending on region).
● Developing and maintaining relationships with key PwC Cyber Security practice points of contact in key territories in-region (e.g. IR leaders, MSSP service owners).
● Proactively identifying active client engagements or prospects across the entire cyber security portfolio that would benefit from intelligence input.
● Developing and/or coordinating local intelligence sharing networks with trust groups, victims, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies.
● Contributing to the threat intelligence reporting and knowledge base.
● Planning profile-raising activity (blogs, conference presentations etc) in-region.
● Supporting global team prioritization for any in-region client engagements requiring threat intelligence team member involvement or oversight.
● Overseeing the routing and escalation of victim notifications in-region.
● Coordinating the capture of intelligence requirements from key PwC countries in-region, and providing collection requirements to key PwC countries.
● Overseeing the process to ensure that all available intelligence from relevant client engagements in-region is collected centrally.
Desirable skills
● A robust understanding and experience of all aspects of managing a multi-disciplinary threat intelligence team in a high-performing and varied environment.
● Demonstrable experience building and exploiting a central corpus of threat intelligence for the benefit of a varied array of consumers.
● Experience setting strategy, creating and executing plans, and managing progress tracking and reporting to senior stakeholders.
● An understanding of technical collection techniques, strategic analysis techniques, common commercial data sources, and the intelligence collection opportunities from cyber security services such as incident response, managed services and wider security consulting projects.
