We are about 20 Wood Supply & Forestry Managers all around the world securing our goal to source all wood from Mores Sustainable Sources, today defined as FSC or recycled wood, latest 2020. We are now looking for a Global Forestry Manager to join our management team who will report to Global Wood Supply and Forestry Manager. The main purpose of this position is to strengthen IKEA as responsible and proactive partner in the field of forestry and to make sure that IKEA?s voice is heard and has influence in key forums.

Some of the key tasks will include:
- In forestry related issues, lead and develop the Regional Wood Supply and Forestry Specialists in a matrix;
- Be the main spokesperson towards forestry organizations (e.g. Forest Stewardship Council, Forest Solutions group etc.);
- Be the main spokesperson towards forestry NGOs (Environmental, Global forestry initiatives or other forestry stakeholders);
- Secure IKEA?s position in the centre of the global debate on forestry;
- Initiate and lead various projects in cooperation with partners as WWF, Rainforest Alliance or Sow a Seed;
- Support IKEA regulatory affairs activities in relevant countries and regions (EU, USA, China, Russia);
- Support IKEA communication team in forestry related issues;
- Lead and develop internal communication strategy on forestry;
- Develop positions, strategies and objectives on forestry, deforestation and related topics and support execution of these strategies.

Is this your next challenge?
We believe that you have a several years? international work experience from forestry related work. You have worked with compliance and standards setting. You have handled media and you have talked and cooperated with international NGOs. Preferably you have built your own wide global professional network of contacts within these organisations. You have coordinated forestry related partnership projects. You speak English fluently and other fluency in other languages such as Russian, Chinese or Spanish is an asset.

As a person, you have a strong drive and ability to take lead, to inspire and engage. You have a holistic approach to issues and you dare to challenge. Further, you are analytical, methodical and structured and you like simplicity. You have innovative mindset and you are able to see new ways of solving problems. You are able to handle different issues at the same time and make sense out of them. You act as IKEA?s ambassador and you have high personal and professional integrity.

This role requires extensive global travelling.
