Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
Who we are?
Here at Volvo Cars, we’ve set our targets big. To further grow and reach our bold goals– committing to 1.2M new car sales by mid decade, with 50% sold online and being fully electric by 2030 – we’re looking for free thinkers, believers, dreamers and most of all – we’re looking for you.
At Volvo Cars Procurement & Supply Chain we are managing and innovating a fast-developing Supply Chain. Given the situation around us, significant transformation and change management is needed for both, our short, mid- and long-term future. We do this in a flexible, adaptable and sustainable manner with a constant eye on new opportunities. We care about people, safety, and sustainability in line with our brand promise.
Resilient, efficient and sustainable supply chains are business critical in today’s world. It is this complex and challenging landscape from where our expectations for this role are coming from.
What´s in it for you?
As Global Head of Logistics, you will head up an organization covering Global Inbound and Outbound Logistics, Parts Supply and the Customs related functions. From external perspective, this is a VP-level position, and you will be reporting directly to Head of Procurement & Supply Chain, Kerstin Enochsson. This role is giving you significant responsibility and the ability to influence the future direction of the end-to-end value chain of Volvo Cars globally. We are looking for someone who is ready for this digital and data driven transformation, as well as for the global challenges and opportunities the automotive industry is facing.
What will you do?
You will be in the middle of Volvo Cars’ biggest transformation journey, driving the change with the purpose to make our supply chain more resilient transparent and efficient. This goal is driven by Procurement & Supply Chain, Manufacturing and other adjacent functions. We want to create a higher-performing function and smarter network design, not operating in isolation but rather in a cohesive ecosystem. You will be challenged not only by company´s targets and changing business models but also by the complexity of the worldwide situation that is tremendously impacting the world of Logistics.
You will ensure that the global logistics strategies and performance targets you set with stakeholders around you are becoming a reality whilst balancing cost, service levels, sustainability, and quality. You will lead the development of the organization within Volvo Cars delivering networks that support each of the logistics functions, driving collaboration across all of the key stakeholders in the industrial and commercial clusters of the Volvo Cars business from R&D to the final customer.
You and your profile
We believe you have a background in industrial engineering, supply chain management or logistics, as well as possessing business acumen and strong understanding of the commercial site of the business. As an add on to your education, your extensive resume consists of relevant roles within the field of Logistics including freight, warehousing, network design and customs.
You’re a leader who’s structured and supportive, having the constant desire to create a team culture that is collaborative and genuine. You work transparently and are open-minded, you are a strong communicator and the expectations you set are ambitions and clear.
You often question the status quo and know how to set a vision that strengthens our whole business, as well as how to build trust among both internal and external stakeholders. You are a charismatic person, making a footprint with your strong and convincing communication.
You role model our digital and data driven transformation, by having a data driven leadership approach, striving for fact-based decisions and directions that will lead to a transparent, smart and efficient supply chain. It is crucial for us that you are able to translate data into clear actions to improve our global supply chain deliveries.
All that, combined with a track record of executive leadership experience in a global environment paired with extensive change management experience would make you a great fit for the role.
What do you say, are you ready for a new fast paced journey, together with us?
