Global Inventory and Supply Planner

Sandvik Machining Solutions is a business area of the Sandvik Group and a global market-leading manufacturer of tools and tooling systems for advanced industrial metal cutting. Products are manufactured in cemented carbide and other hard materials such as diamond, cubic boron nitride and special ceramics.

The Planning organization has responsibility for departmental planning of three lines: Inserts, Round Tools and Tools. It also handles the tactical inventory planning and stock control of our four SMS Distribution Centers. Furthermore, the department is responsible for supplier planning for more than 30 Production Units. The main challenges for the department are to take full process responsibility for planning and, as a line responsibility, improve customer service in terms of stock availability, while improving net working capital.

We are now looking for a Global Inventory and Supply Planner, for a position focusing on Round Tools. This position reports to the manager for Supply Chain Planning Round Tools and work closely with other Inventory and Supply Planners and Planners within Round Tools. Other main contacts are the management and/or Planning department of the PUs within the assigned area.

Key performance areas
As a Global Inventory and Supply Planner, you are responsible for the supply of Tools for SMS' distribution centers worldwide, as well as for providing process support within the areas of inventory control and supply planning.

Some international traveling is required in this position.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in Logistics, or certification in CPIM (lvl1). Some years of relevant experience within production planning and material and inventory control are a prerequisite while experience from working with an ERP-System is advantageous. You have extensive knowledge of Excel, and good skills in English, both in writing and speaking, while skills in German or another language are a plus.
