The Role of logistics and material management is increasingly becoming recognized as not only a key to successful operations but as a major contributor to innovation through the development and adoption of new technological innovation.
The role requires the ability to not only recognize the opportunity for improvement but also to lead the successful adoption of the solution. Inline with Volvo CE culture we expect the successful candidate to a key member of our global logistics team, balance the ‘Perform’ & ‘Develop’ procurement scope.
An important aspect of the role is to be able to balance and contribute with today’s business opportunities, by collaborating with stakeholders to coordinate the material inbound flow for certain multi-site supply chains, taking a holistic view, managing the supply allocation, and identifying and driving improvement activities. In addition to develop activities supporting a sustainable supply chain management approach through the application of both conventional and cutting-edge technologies, such as big data, AI, automation etc.
This position is Volvo CE material ordering supply chain expert and key point of contact for Volvo CE sites, Purchasing and Volvo Group networks related to material supplier activities on a global level. She/He will act as a coach supporting key initiatives involving material control for multiple sites.
Main Tasks
Lead global allocation and crisis forums with our sites and multi-site suppliers, site logistics and transport service organization and collaboration with internal crisis teams.
Continuously develop standards of work and communication to sites, suppliers and purchasing community.
Develop approach to include logistics wanted position for procurement and communicate with Purchasing and other stakeholders within the sourcing cases projects.
Analyze and support development activities to optimization our supply chain material management & Logistics, including transportation and inventory holding throughout the supply chain.
Take the lead in any multi-site logistics issues concerning suppliers such as volume reduction/increases/transport issues etc. and hold Logistics review meetings.

Preferable APICS/CPIM certified
Inbound material flows holistic view
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Experience and Professional Qualifications required for the position:
Experienced in Supply Chain, Production planning or Purchasing
Ideally, candidate will also have additional experience in production planning, material control or purchasing roles
Additional Requirements:
Preferred location is in one of the Volvo CE sites in EU
Fluency in English is required, other languages are a plus
