Global Product Development Director

In this role you will be responsible for product development for Fergas Group globally.
This includes expanding the Fergas product range as well as product testing & verification and to be a key part in customer projects.
The role’s responsibilities include:
Lead and expand a global product & development team.
Present new product concepts to the Global Leadership Team.
Establish and manage our global “Product Life Cycle Management” process.
Follow and evaluate applicable requirements, including, but not limited to, patents, copyrights and trademarks as well as customer and legal requirements (ex. ErP) to be a key input in our product development.



Required Experience & Knowledge
As Fergas is considered to be one of the world’s leading experts in Air moving solutions, specific experience in the area of air moving, blowers, and motors is required. Experience in the fundamentals of fluid dynamics such as airflow geometry, pressure and their effects on energy transfer, motors, sound and power consumption would also be beneficial.
It is important that you have good problem-solving abilities which includes the capability to troubleshoot issues and determine the cause of a plan’s success. In addition to this, you and your team will be responsible for maintaining project schedules.
Furthermore you should be an excellent team player with good communication skills and would be required to stay current with the latest trends and technologies in the various markets.


Work Environment
As Fergas Group Product Development Director you must be comfortable working in a variety of cultures. This role will interact with the various global manufacturing locations, global sales support in different time zones and intimate global customer interaction.


Education and experience:
Engineering degree (electrical /mechanical).
Extensive experience in Product Development and/or project engineering would be favoured.
Business education BA / MBA would be advantageous.


Location:
Main site for Product Development is in Linköping, Sweden but traveling to other Fergas sites, customer locations and exhibitions will be an essential part of the role.


Language:
Official Group language is English so you need to be fully fluent in spoken and written English. Other languages can be of merit such as the spoken languages in the group namely: Swedish, Italian, German, Chinese and Tamil.
