Our Surface Division Research & Development team (SRD R&D) is looking for a passionate individual to drive our Global Products R&D branch to ensure the competiveness and legal fulfilment of the SRD products through a continuous cross functional cooperation with the rest of the organization. You will work as the right hand of the Vice President for Research and Development Equipment (who this role reports to) and the Vice President for Engineering Automation, to secure that the product portfolio of Surface Division is maintained and improved to meet market, legal and regulatory requirements.
You will work cross functional with marketing, production and R&D functions as the main interfaces and be a part of the Global R&D management team.

In this role, People and Product safety will be on the top of your priority. With your leadership and by embrasing Epiroc values, your local and global teams will prioritize and develop the resources to significantly improve our products reliability and secure a balance between standardization work and customer special orders. You shall have a high focus on continuously developing our people including future leaders as well as our ways of working to create the prerequisites for each production site to be a reliable and cost-efficient.
You have the responsibility and accountability for the technical file, certifications (such as CE), and the Product Safety Process. You are responsible for balancing investments between safety, functional, quality, and supply chain engineering works. You lead the work in producing customer cost competitive and high quality products, on time and assure availability / up time for our products to reach zero unplanned stops.
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, we believe you are a senior leader with at least 10 years successful track record of managing R&D and engineering teams in global organizations. Your education is a BSc or MSc engineering degree or similar gained by experience. You have a “Better Together” mindset with a fundamental belief that we, by building a diverse team with the right competence and learning culture, knowledge, and abilities, can move mountains! You believe in solid processes and structure, where you continuously want to improve the way of working in a systematic way.
You are comfortable in the role as a manager when needed, but your daily circles around leadership, growing yourself and your team with challenges. You have the ability to travel to our production sites, combined with an efficient remote leadership through digital tools.
As this is a global role, strong English communication skills both verbal and written are required. Swedish and Chinese knowledge is beneficial.
Location and travel
This position is located in Örebro, Sweden and can be performed in a hybrid way. It is a way of working that offers flexibility and participation allowing for a better balance between work and private life, which also promotes well-being. The exact split between on-site and remote work is up to further agreement.
Travel will be based on business needs. Our R&D teams are spread around the globe, and occational travelling will be required, however most work can be successfully executed from Örebro.
