Supply Chain Manufacturing, within Sandvik Mining, is a production organization that supports PA Tools and Services and operates at eleven geographical sites in six different countries and has around 1,700 full time employees, including about 280 third party employees in some form or another (August 2012). We have production processes for cemented carbide production, heat treatment and machining of steel as our basic technologies.

We are now looking for a Global Project Manager, who will have the opportunity to coordinate global production development within Product Area Tools and Services. We are offering a global position within Sandvik Mining, PA Tools and Services.

The location for this position is preferably based in Sandviken.

Key performance areas
As Global Project Manager you will be responsible for developing the manufacturing processes, methods and tools within Product Area Tools and Services. You will mainly work with:
- Developing and introducing OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) tools into PUs
- Establishing process capability study tools to support unmanned production and run improvement projects within the Quality area
- Benchmark PU's efficiency status
- Improving lead times and maintenance development
- Developing tools and implementing lean manufacturing principles
- New product introduction coordination
- Improvement projects related to our PUs or to the inbound Supply Chain
- Developing and coordinating the CAD/CAM program for all PUs and seeing that the PUs take ownership during implementation.

This position involves traveling about 25-30% of the time in Sweden, Europe and further abroad.

Your profile
You hold a Master's or Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management, and have experience from a relevant area, preferably within product development and supply chain/operations. Management experience and/or project management experience is beneficial, as are project management skills. LEAN manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is also advantageous. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are required for this position.
