Alfa Laval develops, manufactures and sells special products and world-class technical solutions that help our customers optimize the performance of their processes.Time and time again.Our equipment and systems create solutions for heating, cooling, separation and fluid handling of products such as oil, chemicals, water, beverages, foodstuffs, starch and pharmaceuticals.Alfa Laval has approximately 9,500 employees in more than 50 countries covering over 100 markets.We have just created a new Alfa Laval with a new spirit and a strong focus, that will reinforce our position as a global leader within the areas where we operate.Our solid base is our shared goals and values.We are customer oriented.We dare to do things differently.We are open, informal and flexible.We create reliable and cost-efficient solutions.We are a totally new company, founded in 1883.The central / global purchasing function within Operations is split into 6 groups.Each group works with all Alfa Laval's production units and distribution centers.To improve the competitiveness of Alfa Laval, it is critical to constantly improve and work with the base of our suppliers and products.We have own resources in West Europe, East Europe, China, India, US and Mexico.[ We are looking for a new member to our Global Purchasing organization.The commodity group Machining, Forming and Fabrications is responsible for securing a competitive sourcing of Alfa Laval's needs, representing more than 25% of the total purchasing volume.The area of responsibility for this position lies in the range 25-50 MEUR.The job includes creating new opportunities, negotiating and maintaining commercial agreements and contracts.Important parts of the job are to be updated on the international metal market and to be a professional counterpart to the suppliers.We expect you to be a commercially driven engineer.You have a university degree and/or several years of commercial experience from purchasing, but preferably also from sales or marketing.You have substantial negotiating skills and experience.You achieve results through close co-operation with our manufacturing sites, material experts, the global and local purchasing offices, marketing and R&D organizations.Strong interpersonal skills enable you to co-operate and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.You are part of finding opportunities and drive various activities in an efficient and persistent way, yet with an understanding of the importance of showing respect and taking into account various internal parameters.The position requires 50-70 traveling days per year.English is the business language.The position is based in Lund, Sweden.
