WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Global Renewable Energy Sourcing Lead you will develop a roadmap that supports the evolution and execution of Oatly’s renewable energy strategy and drives the success of Oatly’s Sustainability goals! You will also serve as an internal renewable energy expert working across business units and with senior executives to understand and strategize key business challenges and opportunities related to energy markets and price forecasting. This role may also help with best practices and solutions working with Oatly’s supplier base for wastewater treatment and oat residue solutions.

The role includes collaborating with internal business units including sustainability, sourcing, legal, finance and Oatly’s production sites to implement energy sourcing solutions. In addition, the role will collaborate with key co-manufacturers to support their efforts to increase renewable energy.

In this role you will, within procurement:

- Strategize and implement a plan for procuring renewable energy at all of Oatly’s factory sites in alignment with Oatly’s sustainability goal of sourcing 100% renewable energy for heat and electricity by 2029, in collaboration with local or regional production teams

- Create guidance and systems for sourcing renewable energy and assist with contracts

- Collaborate with business partners to identify cost-saving and value-based initiatives and inform local sourcing strategies for the respective area of spend to optimize value

- Support best practices and solutions working with Oatly’s supplier base for wastewater treatment and oat residue solutions as needed

- Educate and engage coworkers on the use of renewable and sustainable energy resources and raise the profile of energy conservation

- Manage and maintain Company compliance with various renewable energy voluntary/ compliance programs, including engagement with strategic initiatives, such as RE 100

Within sustainability:

- Secure updated specifications and certificates sufficient for claiming progress toward sustainability KPIs/metrics, and provide data inputs and documentation to the Sustainability Department

- Assist the Sustainability Reporting Sr. Manager, and LCA Specialist with translating renewable energy results into CO2 reductions

- Track real-time progress toward 100% renewable energy goal and support the zero waste goal, and report the results for various sustainability reporting requirements throughout the year

The position can be based in the countries where we have productions sites or offices, such as in Sweden, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, Finland or the United States. The role includes approximately 25 % domestic and international travel.



WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for someone that has an advanced degree and +7 years of experience within business, engineering or a related fields and have a deep knowledge and direct experience with renewable energy markets, Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) market, and renewable energy procurement.

Key factors for success in this position are:

- Expert knowledge of renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, and building systems

- Preference for experience with energy markets in more than one country where Oatly operates

- Highly skilled analytical and quantitative capabilities

- Conceptual thinker and a problem solver

- Strong passion for sustainability and technical understanding of sustainability impacts

- Pragmatic, humble approach without prestige

- Aim for structure but at the same time, you have no problem working in a less structured environment. Oatly is characterized by strong entrepreneurship, fast pace and lack of hierarchy/bureaucracy
