Role Summary/Purpose:

The GEHC Life Sciences Global Services Engineering Leader will lead and execute product programs with cross-functional team leaders and individuals to meet customer and service requirements for product quality, cost and serviceability to ensure that new product development is done on-time, to right quality and cost, while also managing life cycle product service support.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for NPI and NSI service readiness, making sure the design for service requirements are met during the program development milestones for standard and custom projects.
Act as the link between the global central functions such as R/D, Manufacturing and QA and the global service functions and regional service teams.
Accountable for technical escalations support from the field, and connecting with R&D/Engineering to make sure all technical escalations are addressed as fast as possible.
Drive global service productivity opportunities via product re-design and collecting cost-to-serve plus field inputs and work with R&D/Engineering to quantify and address/improve.
Set strategy and direction of the business and driving continuous improvement of systems, products and processes; including expanded focus on Digital and Remote service technologies.
Functional leadership of the team, including recruitment, team/talent development, skill set improvement, and mentoring.
Resource assignment and prioritization including headcount and base cost budget.
Instill rigorous approach to serviceability needs and target costing for new products and driving cost out of existing products.
Leading change through creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues.
Optimizing team's participation in all phases of product development and leverage best practices from external service engineering parties (HCS, external GE, etc)
Supporting full lifecycle of existing products within Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service and Supplier Quality Engineering.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics, or equivalent experience
Significant work experience
Significant project management or direct or indirect people leadership experience
EU work permit

Quality Specific Goals:

Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives

Desired Characteristics:

Master or PhD in Engineering or Physics
Strong industrial experience
Proven ability to work cross-functionally
Demonstrated project leadership and/or people management skills
Demonstrated supplier and manufacturing interface skills
Proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others
Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives
Proven LEAN skills
