Global Sourcing Certification Manager
Do you have proven experience in working with the global fiber certification schemes – FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification), EU Eco-label? Are you looking for a global role?

We have a vacancy for a Global Sourcing Certification Manager to provide support and advice on issues related to fiber based eco label schemes and fiber-based sustainability projects. Essity currently recognizes two global and four regional fiber-based certification schemes.
About the role
You will plan and resource annual internal certification audits and support sites during certification body surveillance visits. You will also train and manage a team of internal auditors, provided by the business groups, to deliver the internal audit program.
The preferred location for this position is the office in Gothenburg, however Munich area in German could also be considered for the right candidate.
What you will do
Some of the key accountabilities include:
Liaise with Certification/Competent Bodies to maintain compliance and review changes to standards.
Ensure EU Eco-label calculation sheets are maintained for all participating mills and fibre suppliers
Support the manufacturing sites when approving new base sheets and articles for EU Eco-label.
Manage the follow up of audit actions, complete non-conformance reports and close out actions
Assist with the implementation of new site certifications
Prepare training material and present training for new standards to ensure continued compliance by the business
Analyse new standards, identify issues that may impact on continued compliance and implement changes
Manage logo approvals for the appropriate schemes
Who you are
We prefer that you have
Proven experience in the development and auditing of ISO based Management systems
Experience as a lead auditor, preferably in FSC and PEFC chain of custody standards
Knowledge and experience of working with fibres used in the manufacture of tissue and personal care products.
Strong tissue mill knowledge to support the energy and emissions data calculations for EU Eco-label
A degree level qualification (STEM based – desirable)
Knowledge of SAP and MAPxR combined with a high degree of computer literacy
An eye for detail with a strong focus on quality
Well-developed documentation and presentation skills combined with the ability to communicate key information concisely
A positive attitude combined with strong levels of self-drive
The ability to react quickly under pressure
Strong communication skills with the ability to both constructively challenge and influence
The flexibility to travel globally for up to 50% of the year
Critical to the success of the role will be your ability to take the lead in audits, manage multiple stakeholders whilst coaching and guiding less experienced members of broader business teams through successful audits. If you have a strong interest in sustainability, are adept at managing data using management systems this may be the role for you.
