Global Strategic Buyer

ValueOne is looking for a Global Strategic Buyer for a consultant assignment at a manufacturing company in Stockholm.

The role  

As Global Strategic Buyer you will lead the category work within consumption materials and tools for the manufacturing industry and follow up the progress with global manufacturing units. You also have a responsibility to plan, manage and coordinate activities related to global sourcing processes (e.g. risk management, supply capacity, total cost).

Main tasks:

Develop an appropriate supply chain strategy to maximize user satisfaction
Have regular meetings with internal stakeholders to determine product- and technology roadmaps
Implement supplier relationship strategies and tactics across the network
Coordinate, negotiate and implement global supplier agreements
Support regional / local PUs and act as escalation level for operational / tactical disputes and major claims
Lead supplier meetings with existing global suppliers and develop relationships with new suppliers


It is possible to work partly remote.

Experience and competencies  

The ideal person for this assignment has a minimum of five years of working experience within strategic purchasing and category management in a technical driven organization within manufacturing. Previous experience from working within a global matrix organization is desired. You have experience from leading informal teams and collaborate towards common goals. The role furthermore demands that you are used to evaluate and develop suppliers.  Fluency in English, oral and in writing, is required. In addition, we like you to have experience from negotiations on an international level as well as good stakeholder management capabilities. Furthermore, you are a skilled negotiator, confident in managing tough discussions. You have a high sense of responsibility, excellent analytical skills and a strong commercial drive.
