Global Sustainability Manager - Rock Tools

Global Sustainability Manager - Rock Tools

Arbetsbeskrivning

It takes commitment to be the leading supplier of equipment, tools, services, support and technical solutions for the mining and construction industry, and at Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology, we aim for nothing less!

For division Rock Tools, we’re now looking for a Global Sustainability Manager - a role that calls for confidence and visionary thinking, combined with a strong ethical compass and a passion for sustainability. We play fair, build circularity and champion people, and together we make the shift towards a more sustainable world. This is a major game changer when doing business and our goal is to be the best of the best. We’re not just talking about creating an activity plan - we want to build a strong culture that generates true value, and we want everyone onboard. Are you eager to push our performance and make an important mark in our industry? Then we really want to meet you!

Let’s talk about your mission
In this key position, you set out to get our entire organization to understand and sign off on what it takes to be industry leaders in sustainability. This goes from our supplier base, through our internal supply chain and all the way to the customer usage of our products. You play a central role in the development and implementation of the global sustainability strategy for our division - including roadmaps, goals and targets - and you ensure that our frameworks drive value-adding campaigns and activities. This is managed in alignment with the overall sustainability strategy for Sandvik Group, and in tight global collaboration with our internal and external stakeholders. You visualize, coordinate and drive global plans, structures and tools to make sure we’re successful!

By using a fact-based approach - and keeping the planet, our people, productivity and profitability in mind - you monitor our performance and environmental footprint, and you support decision-making closely linked to our business objectives. Your scope include our entire division and supply chain, and you integrate sustainability in our business in a smart and efficient way. You also coordinate our Rock Tools sustainability network. Naturally, you create a strong awareness and an educational shift, and you plan and engage in various projects, task forces and audits within the area. Other central items on your agenda include identifying and evaluating impacts, risks and opportunities, and you benchmark, investigate and explore to find synergies, best practices and keep us in a leading position.

The location for this job is in Sandviken or Stockholm (Västberga), and some international travel would normally be included in your job.

And what about you?
We believe that you have a relevant degree – most likely within Environmental Science or Sustainability – along with five years’ experience from directly related work, where you have gained both theoretical and hands-on knowledge of leading sustainability/environmental activities related to manufacturing. Skills in strategy, stakeholder and change management are very much required, and you’re an excellent communicator who leads by example. But most important for this position, is your true passion for sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility and how to reduce the environmental impact of a mining and construction industry. Previous experience from Life Cycle Management and ISO14001 are also beneficial. We operate worldwide, and this calls for an open mind and cultural awareness – you’re used to working cross both functions and borders and you must be fluent in written and verbal English.

Your approach is organized and transparent, and you’re very skilled at motivating people and driving positive change through networks. You look at new ways of working, challenge us to reach our vision, and unite us in how to run a truly sustainable business. This means that you also need to be brave, influential, inclusive and trustworthy. Great collaboration is central in this job, and you know what to prioritize and what connections you need to establish to achieve results. All in all, you’re a strategic initiator and a resourceful doer – someone who encourages people to open up, think differently and take responsibility!
