Arbetsbeskrivning

Global System and Global Component Responsible
At Powertrain Engineering (PE) in the Air and Gas (A&G) team you will be a key contributor to the next generation of outstanding Trucks. Powertrain Engineering is a part of Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) and is the global, strategic center for powertrain development within the Volvo Group.

The A&G group is responsible to develop several components and sub-systems for the heavy-duty engine platform. Together with colleagues around the world, you will create innovative human-centric transport solutions with low environmental impact and high customer value.

We are looking for a person who will work part time as Global Component Responsible (GCR) with our Air and Gas (A&G) components such as different Exhaust brake concepts, EGR valves, EGR coolers etc., and part time as
Global System Responsible (GSR) where you will be responsible of different parts of the A&G System, where the system includes both HW, sensor and Control strategies.
In neither of these roles you will be alone. You will be part of a team where you are working together with persons with the same roles but with different responsibilities of components and systems.

About the position
As GCR you will lead the development of your A&G component(s) globally. You are responsible for the complete lifecycle of your components on our heavy duty engine platform. You will take full product ownership of your components from “cradle to grave”.

As GSR you are responsible for your part of the A&G system on a global level for our heavy duty engine platform. Through collaboration with System Chief Engineers, other System Engineers, other sites and cross functional stakeholders you will balance and define system requirements, set system roadmaps and recommend system solutions to projects. As GSR you are active in the complete lifecycle of your system and in particular lead activities from pre-development to early phases in engine projects.

What are we looking for?
We think teamwork and collaboration create both an attractive workplace and great products. To succeed and have fun in the position we believe you are knowledgeable in component-, system- and engine development. You will present component and system recommendations, roadmaps and strategies in different management and engineering forums.

It is therefore important with good communication abilities, presentation skills and ability to present and understand the essence of different matters. To drive the work of closing knowledge gaps and to create technical offers meeting our customers’ requirements, it is also important to be self-motivated and a self-starter.

You will lead development activities with stakeholders from different technical disciplines and from different cultures. Team work, diversity and inclusiveness, respect for the individual, energy and having fun are key words for us.

In addition to the above, aspects that are important merits to us are:
Good understanding of engine development and engine system
High social competence, communication skills, a strong willingness to learn and to have fun at work and a "we before me" mindset
At least B.Sc. or similar technical knowledge
At least 5 years of experience in product development
You enjoy working with Agile SAFe methods and are familiar with the tool JIRA

What can we offer you?
You will be part of a great team of social, innovative and passionate colleagues. You will work in a global environment with great possibilities to develop both personally and professionally. You will work with both Volvo colleagues and suppliers. We hope you will learn as much from us as we will learn from you.
