HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems.
As the 'Global TK Tender and Conceptual Technical Lead' you will have the opportunity to be a technical leader for the Tender and Conceptual Design Team within HVDC Control and Protection, a diverse multidisciplinary team of over 20 engineers (and growing) with specialties in Control, Protection, Hardware and SCADA. In this position, you will be responsible for all the technical solutions produced by the Tender and Conceptual Design Team, either for Control and Protection Tenders, FEEDs (Front End Engineering Design) or Conceptual Design for projects.
Responsibilities
Leads, coordinates, mentors and provide technical support to the engineers in the Tender and Conceptual Design Team.
Participates in Expert Groups, Design Review Meetings, Customer Meetings, Workshops and Negotiations.
Makes technical decisions according to the feasibility of the proposed solutions based on our customer’s requirements.
Collaborates with the Technical Solution Owners and Champions to understand what solutions are available, and what is the roadmap for new technology or processes.
Provides inputs to TK Management Team and Technical Solution Owners in relation to current and incoming work packages and technologies and competences required.
Continuous collaboration with the Team Lead on how to plan for the activities in the Tender and Conceptual Design Team.

Background
Extensive knowledge and experience from system development and system integration within HVDC Control and Protection technology.
You have genuine technical interest, strong leadership and collaboration skills and are always open to develop your skills within other fields and willing to take over responsibility for large technical scopes.
Knowledge and experience from Control and Protection systems, including Substation Protection, SCADA Automation & Telecommunication Systems.
Knowledge and experience from complex integration projects during design and execution.
You are structured, flexible, comfortable in a dynamic and changing environment, and excels at time management.
You have a strong sense of quality, is motivated to take on new challenges, and hold great technical academic and professional qualifications.
You have experience working with tenders and bids for industrial systems / control and protection systems and you are comfortable in professionally fronting customers.
Knowledge how to use Microsoft’s Office suite of software, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Swedish is desirable.
