About the Trainee Program
We are welcoming ten trainees to several sites in Sweden, Norway, and Finland within one of our Business Areas Mines, Smelters or at our Group Functions. The trainee period will be divided into three different sections of four months each. The trainee program will combine local internships at different locations with theoretical and practical training in our core areas. During the trainee program you will gain valuable knowledge about our business and how we operate, as well as building a broad network of national and international colleagues. As a trainee at Boliden, you will have both a tutor and a mentor to support you in your development, and you will go through a personal development program throughout the program period.
You will have a defined position and a permanent job from the start in one of our business areas. After the program you will continue to develop your career in Boliden from that position. In the application you choose which positions and placements you are interested in. The positions included in the program are within three areas of our operation:
Boliden Mines
Boliden's open pit and underground mines are some of the world's most productive. One reason for this is our constant development of new techniques and methods of utilizing resources in the best possible way. We invest heavily in maintenance technology and work constantly to modernize and streamline the design, planning, and management of our mines to further raise quality. Boliden's mines are situated in Sweden, Finland, and Ireland.

Mining Engineer to Garpenberg, Sweden
Maintenance Engineer to Boliden Area, Sweden
Mine Geologist to Kevitsa, Finland
Boliden Smelters
In our smelters we refine mineral concentrates from our own and other mines into pure metals. We focus on producing metals with a low carbon footprint and are global leader in the recycling of base and precious metals, for example from electronic scrap. Our smelters are situated in Sweden, Finland, and Norway.

Group Functions
At Boliden Group Functions we provide support to our global operations within the areas of Corporate Responsibility, IT, Finance, Legal, and Procurement. We are committed to creating value for our business and our operations. Our head office is situated in central Stockholm.

To qualify for one of the positions in the Trainee Program, you should have a relevant University degree with a Bachelor level minimum from 2020 or later. You are fluent in English and have a driver's license. It is also important that you can start in September 2022. Boliden's trainee program is an interdisciplinary program where different academic backgrounds are welcome to apply such as engineering, economics, finance, geology, tech, IT, systems science, industrial economics, environmental engineering, mechanical and process engineering.
