Travel management of Scania is responsible for coordinating the travel process and associated services such as handling travel agency, rental cars, payment cards, visas and external conference facilities etc. Our ambition is that Scania's employees should be able to travel and meet in a safe, sustainable and cost-effective way. Our most important stakeholders are travel bookers and travellers at the company, which means that we frequently participates in cross-functional forums and projects. We have continuous cooperation with our purchasing function and external suppliers.
The Global Travel Manager will be responsible for the global contracts, creating value, leveraging, and support financial initiatives that impact Scania and VW groups global Travel program. You will be a key asset in setting the strategic direction for Scania’s travel management.
This is a new role within Scania and will focus on collaboration in global agreements, (consolidate travel program), continuous improvement initiatives to enhance traveller experience, reducing costs as well as supporting sustainable travel.
The position and tasks
The Global Travel Manager will be responsible at Scania for keeping on top of industry best practices and:
• Monitor the global developments within Business Travel Industry
• Develop and fine-tune strategic policies and programs
• Set the foundation and expectations for the Scania brand global entities
• Consolidation of Scania brand specific requirements for joint VW Group Travel Management tenders
• In collaboration with VW Travel Management drive standardization and harmonization according to the VW Group standards within the Scania brand
• Establish global travel network within the Scania brand
Steering of global VW Group contracts within Scania brand
• Knowledge of, implementation and compliance with global VW Group contracts
• Information and knowledge transfer to Scania brand entities, support in case of queries
• Guarantee implementation and use of negotiated rates, solutions and products
• Active global steering of own brand entities
Global supplier management
• Active global steering of suppliers
• Monitoring and management of supplier performance (SLA) by global brand specific KPIs
• Brand satisfaction survey activities and complaint management
Requirement and quality management
• Increase knowledge about specific brand or/and country requirements
• Analysis and evaluation of optimization, standardization and saving potentials
Your profile
We are looking for someone with:
• Relevant university degree or corresponding work experience
• Extensive and relevant travel management leadership gained through a category buyer role for travel or as a former travel manager
• Financial and analytic skills
• Experience to lead and/or assist in implementation projects
• Holistically and creatively thinking and capability to present solutions and recommendations to all stakeholders including C-suite.
• Excellent people skills with the ability to act in a liaison role managing key stakeholder relationships throughout the organization
• Ability to adapt to changing trends and internal market conditions
• Experience of using travel-related tools
• Excellent communication skills in English, both writing and speaking. Knowledge of Swedish and/or German is helpful.
